A guarantor is a person or company that promises to cover your rent if you cannot. US landlords usually ask for one when an applicant has no US credit history. If you do not have a US-based co-signer, paid guarantor services accept international students for a one-time fee, typically a percentage of the annual rent. We tell you which buildings need one and which do not.
