What we do

MyHomeversity is a free housing-discovery service for international students. We connect you with verified property management partners. We are not a property manager, real estate broker, or escrow agent. We do not handle rent, deposits, or lease signing.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to use the service. By submitting the form, you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you consent to be contacted by us and our property partners about housing options.

Free service, no fees

Our service is and will remain free for students. We are paid by property management partners only when a referral results in a signed lease.

No guarantees

We curate listings carefully but cannot guarantee any specific unit will be available, suitable, or free of issues. Always read your lease, perform a viewing (in person or via video), and verify landlord credentials before signing or paying.

Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information.
• Do not submit on behalf of others without their consent.
• Do not abuse the form, attempt scraping, or attempt to compromise the service.
• Report any concerning landlord behavior so we can investigate.

Third-party properties + content

Property listings, photos, and details may originate from third-party property managers. We do not warrant the accuracy or availability of third-party content. Your transactions are between you and the property manager.

Intellectual property

The MyHomeversity name, logo, copy, design, and original guides are owned by MyHomeversity. You may share links freely. Re-publishing substantial portions requires written permission.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyHomeversity is not liable for damages arising from your use of the service or any housing decision. The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.

Termination

We may suspend access for any user who abuses the service. You may request deletion of your data at any time per our Privacy Policy.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Cook County, Illinois.
